Three (3) Submarine Surprises - Mine, Yours and Ours
M.E.'s Surprise (UPDATE #1)
Speculation (link January 14, 2010): Wonder how Capt. Graf will be connected with submarines (sous-marins), can we guess? UPDATE: Not that Capt. Graf has been discharged, but M.E. finds implausible a future connection (outside of matrimony) she might ever have with submarines.
Your Surprise (UPDATE #2)
Associated Press (link November 18, 2011) The Navy's inspector general for the Atlantic submarine force confirmed it is investigating potentially widespread cheating, a review that began in August following a complaint that originated at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton. Prediction (today): Either the head of the investigation team or one if its members will be a nuclear-trained FEMALE officer, which is one of the primary reasons for the announced investigation.
Our Surprise (UPDATE #3)
Sunken Soviet Sub's Covert Mission Controversy (link March 03, 2011) A dispute exists over whether the wreck deserves further investigation. The Sweden's military does not, after investigation, rule out that there was a foreign submarine outside Gothenburg, western Sweden, in September 2011. QUESTION of the WEEK: What could be attracting these subs to Sweden ? ANSWER: Those who know are not providing that information.
Submarines are always silent and strange.

2 Comments:
Didn't know that Graf has been discharged. Last I heard she was in some "make work" position waiting for the publicity to die down.
Contrary, SECNAV Ray Mabus has not yet signed off on the following:
A board of inquiry composed of three admirals held hearings regarding Graf's misconduct during November 2010. On December 3, 2010, the board of inquiry recommended that Graf be separated from the Navy and receive a general discharge so she could be allowed to retire with the rank of captain.
Guessing Graf must be either an Obama donor or law school student (nights) while taxpayers continue her active duty O-6 pay. Mabus would have dumped a conservative by now.
Mabus is making a mistake if he thinks delaying her separation is better administration PR than putting it in the past ASAP would have been.
Graf is not qualified to participate in the nuclear "cheating" scandal.
