Submarine Mystery Questions of the Week - 12 JAN 2012

BACKGROUND-
Probably no commissioned Navy vessels have traveled the globe as far and wide as submarines have. Not as obvious, however, is the fact that due to limited opportunities for panoramic surface observations coupled with intimate knowledge of related navigation charts, few sub sailors besides those engaged in actual navigation have much lasting knowledge of coastal geography beyond their infrequent ports of call.

These small, export-producing islands are for sale (about 4,305,564 square feet) on the end of an archipelago (island chain) shown below.

QUESTIONS of the Week:

1) Identify the nationality or name of the big, undeveloped island shown above.

2) What is the islands main export?

3) What kind of plant processes its main harvest?

4) How is the climate described by the CIA World Factbook?

ANSWERS: Sunday, 15 JAN 2012.

Submarines are always silent and strange.
