U.S. Senator Graham's Chilling Comments

The good senator, who sits in prominent security meetings, has been quoted today in the Beaufort Gazette. Long story short, excerpts:

"I've never been so unnerved as I am now about the way world events are shaping up," the senator said during a conference call with South Carolina reporters.

He said the world has only weeks - perhaps a couple of months at best - to use sanctions and other means to prevent Iran from building a bomb.

"The state of Israel is not going to sit on the sidelines forever watching Iran develop a nuclear weapon. There is a window of time here."

Graham said he doesn't think President Bush will sit on the sidelines either.

"The time frame is uncertain," Graham said. "That makes things worse, not better. That should chill everyone in the world."

A couple of months. Let's see. That would make it right before the mid-term elections. That sounds just about right. Excuse me if I'm a little cynical.

No problem, reddog, that could very well be why he made those statements, although he is not up for re-election in this fall's election. - Vig
